Twelfth Night Festivities at Neuadd Ogwen with Bob Delyn
Pesda Roc are celebrating Twelfth Night with a New Year gig in the foyer and bar of Neuadd Ogwen on Friday 6th January. This will be the first in a series of wine and song nights on the first Friday of the month featuring some of Wales’ foremost bands and singer songwriters, with the foyer specially decorated for the occasion. Steve Eaves has already been booked for the February show on Friday 3rd, and 9Bach look certain to confirm for the March event.
The evening will start at 7pm and the ticket price of £10 will include a meal. Tickets are available from ‘Siop Kathy’ next door to Neuadd Ogwen.
Bob Delyn a’r Ebillion now have a new bass guitarist – Nikolaz Davalan – a Breton living in Dinas Mawddwy continuing the Breton theme that has been such an integral part of Bob Delyn’s ‘bardic beatbox’ sound over the years. The band are at present recording a new album at Gorwel Owen’s studio in Rhosneigr that will include the Breton reggae anthem ‘Legalise Brezhoneg’.
The beautifully evocative ‘Sŵn ar Gerdyn Post’ will also feature on the album – the lyrics written on a post card from South America from Iwan Llwyd to Twm Morys and set to a hauntingly simple melody by Twm. Bob Delyn are also recording a version of the traditional instrumental air ‘Bwlch Llanberis’.
Don’t miss this New Year opportunity to enjoy the warmth and vitality of Wales’ most unique and original folk band!
