Yuri Goloubev Trio

Experience the ‘impeccable playing technique and a perfect jazz feel’ of the talented Yuri Goloubev Trio in a concert forming part of the UK tour launching their CD Titanic for a Bike. The concert will also feature performances of compositions by pupils from Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen and a performance by the Ysgol Tryfan Big Band.

Bangor New Music Ensemble with Xenia Pestova (piano)

A centenary event celebrating the birth of John Cage that will include the unusual Living Room Music andSuite for Toy Piano amongst other examples of his work, together with experimental pieces influenced by the Fluxus movement by George Brecht, Luce Fiernes, Guto Pryderi Puw, Nia Davies Williams and La Monte Young.

THE SINKING OF THE TITANIC

Ensemble Cymru with Sioned Eleri Roberts (clarinet)
A concert to mark the 100^th anniversary of this fateful maiden voyage, with a performance of the iconicSinking of the Titanic by Gavin Bryars alongside Gareth Glyn’s Anglesey Seascapes and new commissions from Gareth Churchill and Kimon Emmanouil Grigoriadis. Also featured will be a new piece by pupils from Ysgol y Traeth, Barmouth.

ENSEMBLE CYMRU MASTERCLASSES - An opportunity for local violinists, viola players and cellists to receive individual tuition from members of Wales’ premiere chamber ensemble. The standard should be Grade 7 or higher and registration is required: please contact the festival for further details. 

Fees: for participants, £8; for audience members, £5 / £3 (adults/full-time education).

(These masterclasses are presented in collaboration with the School of Music, Bangor University, and the Canolfan Gerdd and Gwasanaeth Ysgolion William Mathias.)
